These two have formed a strategic partnership and MLabs consults for the Cardano Foundation.

MLabs are "development partners" for Liqwid and are building their lending protocol.

MLabs and IOHK "actively collaborate" and MLabs were one of the software companies that worked with the IOHK Plutus delivery team on the private testnet.

Using a web application institutions, governments, corporations, and anyone else who wants to will be able to issue documents with an attached proof of authenticity that is verifiable through the Cardano blockchain. Then, using an Android or iOS applications, anyone will be able to scan the QR code generated by the authentication procedure to confirm the authenticity of said document.

## How it Works

A user, a university for example, will upload a digital version of the certificate they want to issue on the blockchain. The Blockademia web application then creates a hash from this document and sends that hash to the blockchain as transaction metadata. A QR code is generated that is uniquely tied to the blockchain verification of that document.

Someone looking to verify that document will then scan the QR code using the mobile app. If the QR code is a true code it will return with information about the verified document, such as: which institution issued it, who it was issued to, when it was issued, etc. This can then be compared to the physical copy of the document to confirm that it is authentic and not a forgery.

## Different User Levels

There are four different levels of user depending on the needs of the individual or institution. These levels are obtained by staking the applications native token, ACI. The token requirement varies from 1000 to 50,000 depending on which level of tools the user wants or requires. The required holding amount for each user level will decrease in correlation with the growth of active document issuers on the platform in order to continue to make it accessible to new document issuers.

## ACI Token Functions

These tokens have more utility than simply staking. They are also required for:

- Paying fees on the platform
- Rewarding successful referrals: with a one time payment and a lifetime percentage of the referred’s transactions 
- Treasury financing
- Governance

Tokens can be locked to earn additional yields of 10% per year, in ACI tokens, and locking tokens grants access to some, yet to be defined, advanced functionalities of the system. It does not say what these yields are given in addition to as there is no mention of yields elsewhere in Blockademia's documentation.

Each transaction competed on the network needs to be paid for in ACI, and this is redistributed with the majority, 65%, going to the “manager”. Currently this is the entity that owns Blockademia but, in the long term, it is said to be "the community". This is assumed, but not implied or stated, to be the DAO treasury.


Using the Cardano blockchain to issue immutable proofs for documents that can then be use to verify said documents' authenticity.

ADA Finance aims to bring more direct, peer-to-peer, finance options to the defi world. [Yoroi](https://builtoncardano.com/yoroi-wallet), [Daedalus](https://builtoncardano.com/daedalus-wallet), and [Gero](https://builtoncardano.com/gero-wallet) wallets will be integrated into the platform and can thus be connected to display the user's balances inside of the platform.

>Partner audits will be conducted of each pairing’s smart contract before the smart contract is released for public testing.

Token wrapping will be enabled on the platform and tokens are matched 1:1 over a smart contract Token Bridge. This process is overseen by an oracle so that the wrapped assets and representative token maintain their stated 1:1 ratio. There is a *0.1% platform fee* associated with unwrapping assets.

## ADAFi Swap

ADAFi Swap runs on an AMM algorithm and anyone can create a token pairing provided they lock up a minimum amount of liquidity for 12 months. Fees for using ADASwap are as follows:

- 0.3% fee for swapping tokens
- 0.05% fee for swapping stable coins or main pairs

Fees are split between liquidity providers, LPs, proportional to their liquidity contribution and fees are deposited as liquidity reserves back into the pool from which they originated. This increases the value of liquidity tokens held by the LPs and they then collect their fees by burning LP tokens to receive the associated quantity of asset. It also increase the depth of the liquidity pool.

#### Staking

Users can stake their ADAFI Tokens to the platform for however long they want and can withdraw their staked amount, or claim their staking rewards, “without any delay”. For staking there is a progressive rewards model, meaning that the longer a user stakes their tokens the higher the APR they receive.

- 1-90 days = 20% APR
- 91-180 days = 24%APR
- 181+ days = 30%APR

Staking rewards are allocated every second and distributed quarterly. Stakers are charged a 1.25% deposit fee and a 0.75% withdrawal fee. There are 0% fees for claiming rewards or compounding those rewards into the current stake.

#### “Farming Pools”

To incentivize LPs ADA Finance has set up farming pool. also called “staking Liquidity Points”. Users deposit liquidity points into the farming smart contract and get rewards, from a fixed rewards pool, proportional to their contribution to the pool whilst still receiving a share of swap fees. Projects that perform fundraising on the Cardanow IDO Launchpad are required to set up a farming pool to incentivize their community to stake liquidity to the platform. Farming comes with a 0% deposit fee and a 1% withdrawal fee.

## Peer-to-Peer Lending

*Lenders:* A lender sets up each loan choosing: which asset to offer, how much of that asset to offer, how long to offer it for, and at what daily interest rate (up to 2%). These loans are then made available to borrowers in a marketplace style setting, where they can choose the loan that fits them.

*Borrowers:* Loans on P2P Finance require crypto collateral from the borrower, but no collateral minimums are stated in the whitepaper. These are short term loans, with borrow periods of 7, 14, and 28 days. Borrowers can pay back the loan before the end period if they wish, and will pay less interest for doing so i.e. not pay interest past the day they closed the loan.

There is a 15% fees for lenders on the platform; taken from their realized profits on the loans paid back to them. 5% of of this goes into an insurance fund to protect lenders against liquidation. If a loan is liquidated then the insurance fund is used to provide any additional funds so that the lender can be sure to receive their initial assets and the interest amount they would have received up to the point of liquidation. The other 10% of fees is distributed to platform development (5%), the affiliate network (3%), and the DAO program (2%).

Lenders can opt to receive their loan interest in ADAFI tokens. Doing so guarantees them reimbursement of accrued interest upon liquidation events, and those that take this option get an additional 1% bonus, paid by the platform, on top of their profits from the loan.

## Margin Trading

Margin Trading is only available for assets that support a decentralized price feed (from the Charli3 oracle) because liquidations are triggered by this price feed. Margin traders are required to hold 105% of their position as collateral and if this is not kept up then their position will be liquidated. Margin trading requests are filled by lenders on ADA Finance, and traders can manually select their margin loan if they wish.

Margin tradings fees are 0.4%. Of this 0.3% is provided to liquidity providers on the ADAFi Swap and 0.1% is given to the platform to support the ”Margin technology”.

## IDO Launchpad

A launchpad enabling projects to raise funds by holding an Initial Decentralized Exchange Offering, an IDO, on ADAFi Swap. Funds raised through an IDO are drip fed to the project to prevent rug-pulls and exit scams.

Projects wishing to complete an IDO must first go through a review process. After successfully making it through the review process the project is then voted on by ADAFi Token Ambassadors (the highest level of DAO membership). These Ambassadors are voting on whether or not to accept that project onto the Cardanow launchpad. Only 1 project can perform fundraising at a time, and voting takes place once a month; so only 1 IDO can be hosted each each month.

Users are made eligible to participate in these IDOs through two avenues:

- Being a member of the whitelisted investment pool organized by the listing project
- By holding 3000 or more ADAFi token.

Funding raised through the launchpad is split 3 ways:

- 70% To the project for development.
- 20% Locked for 12 months as liquidity on ADAFi Swap.
- 10% Platform fee taken by ADA Finance; 7.5% for the platform and 2.5% for the DAO program.

## DAO

ADA Finance aims to evoke a DAO in the management on the platform. There will be 3 levels for DAO members, and membership is defined by P2P token staking quantities.

- Counselor: 25,000 ADAFI tokens
- Minister: 50,000 ADAFI tokens
- Ambassador 100,000 ADAFI tokens

When users reach the required staking amount they must manually activate their DAO level. Doing this will lock their tokens for a pre-specified length of time, with the length of time relating to their DAO level; lower levels having longer lockup periods.

Increasing their level provides a DAO member with increased voting privileges as well as a higher % of fees earned from various aspects of the platform. Rewards for DAO members are distributed every quarter.

## Affiliate Networks and Address Milestones

Users can create a smart contract by locking up 500 ADAFI tokens for a minimum of 12 months. That smart contract will then generate a referral link. There are 3 levels of affiliate network meaning that if your affiliate has and affiliate who has an affiliate, you will receive percentage rewards for the activities of each of these persons; decreasing in value the further they get from you.

Address milestones are a rewards based system that puts users of the platform into  1 of 5 categories, depending on their lifetime activity. These categories are named after precious materials and range from Bronze to Diamond. On each level the user obtains rewards in ADAFI tokens for hitting milestones in four different categories, from trading volume to referrals; and the rewards are higher as the levels go up.

PIGY Oracle has been running since March 2021, and currently posts price data for the following assets at 1200 UTC every day:

- Secured Overnight Financing Rate, SOFR
- ADA Price (in multiple currencies)
- BTC Price (in multiple currencies)
- ETH Price (in multiple currencies)
- The price of multiple precious metals (in USD)

Active community members are invited to propose further data points and the creator explicitly asks stake pools using the [PIGY Token](https://builtoncardano.com/pigy-token) to collaborate and to help make the PIGY Oracle a decentralized oracle; although the mechanism for accomplishing this decentralization has yet to be revealed.

A Oracle run by the Stake Pool incentive token PIGY Token. Fees for the Oracle can only be paid in PIGY Tokens. 

PIGY Oracle

PIGY Token and PIGY Oracle are created by the same entity. PIGY tokens are required to pay the fees for using the PIGY Oracle. PIGY Oracle is also looking for SPOs who use the PIGY Token to assist in decentralizing the oracle.

This marketplace code has built into it a trade fee of 0.4%. So anyone who implements this smart contract on their own site will receive 0.4% of each trade completed through it.

The open source code for the smart contract that is implemented as a marketplace on the Spacebudz website. It can be used for both auctioning and static offers.

These two are intertwined lovers. The open sourced "Spacebudz Marketplace" code was created by Berry, the creator of Spacebudz, and was used to create the first smart contract based marketplace on Cardano. Naturally, this was on the Spacebudz website.

## NFT Minting Service
Cardahub provides a truly decentralized, smart contract-based minting service. Cardahub provides a liquidity marketplace where content creators, investors, or digital assets collectors can list their NFTs for sale, or purchase the ones that they love. Cardahub marketplace is powered by a Plutus Smart Contract. The smart contract of Cardahub is open for all types of NFT, which means that users could buy any NFT on other marketplaces, and still be able to sell it on Cardahub. On the other hand, all the assets on Cardahub are [EIP-721/CIP-25 compliant](https://cips.cardano.org/cips/cip25/), thus one could take assets they collect on Cardahub and list them on other marketplaces.

For fans the benefit is that they can get closer to the people of whom they are fans by purchasing tokens that give them access to exclusive events and channels as well as discounted NFTs.

## NFTs & a Marketplace

Influencers on the platform can easily turn their content into NFTs that they then sell on the marketplace to their fans, who can purchase the content with just a swipe. These fans can also use the marketplace to re-sell these NFTs. The marketplace is managed by smart contracts and NFTs purchased on the platform can be kept in their wallet or in the treasury smart contract; although it is not said what the benefit of holding them in smart contract is.

## Y-tokens

Influencers create their own Y-tokens, also called yTokens, which give the holder membership to that influencer’s private community. This includes access to exclusive channels of content and a 50% discount on NFT purchases. There are a limited number of Y-tokens each influencer can produce, but when all the available Y-tokens are taken it is then possible for the influencer to create more. Community members who are owners of the Y-tokens can auction them to other users in the YouClout marketplace.

Whilst this does seem like a legitimate project there are certain areas, specifically platform governance, which are not delved into in detail in the limited documentation provided by YouClout. Neither are the expansion of the 3D metaverse or how the process of minting more Y-tokens works.

Also, whilst the team members are real people, only the CEO and CTO are linked with the project through their LinkedIn profiles; many of which are listed in the only documentation, an investor deck, provided by the project.

Adanize is a project whose main objective is to develop useful tools for users on the Cardano blockchain. These tools will bring different utilities to the real world and the virtual world, such as:

Local Meetups

The Dualist King game exists to be played and enjoyed, but the secondary purpose for its existence is to showcase the capabilities of the [DKDAO](https://www.dkdao.network/). The DKDAO is a toolkit, built by the creators of Dualist King, of easy to deploy solutions designed to help democratize the distribution of games and the issuing of their related digital assets.

Dualist King is blockchain agnostic and works on any chain that is EVM compatible, currently this means BSC, TRON, Polygon, and the soon to be compatible Cardano blockchain.

Dualist King uses an “in-house” DAO, oracle, and random number generator, from the DKDAO, to transparently manage in-game asset distribution and the evolution of the game. All decisions made regarding card issuance, card distribution and proceeds allocation are governed by these decentralized mechanisms and a tool is going to be made to allow the community to verify the fairness of this.

Being decentralized makes community central to the game’s success and the creators have tried to involve them in every aspect of the game. Community members who are artistically inclined can produce cards for the game, and there are incentives for all stakeholders, from players to investors.

## Win-to-Earn

Dualist King is a win-to-earn game and winners of battles will be rewarded with cards, in-game points or artifacts. Once a duel is won a card will be dropped to the winner. The card will be covered and sealed. Players will have to spend DKT, the game’s native token, to uncover the card. They then have to pay a higher amount of DKT to unseal the card. This means they can then add it to their deck or trade it on the market.

## Staking

Staking the game’s native token, DKT, is essential to the DAO which governs the game. Stakers get multiple benefits, including:

- Receiving a portion of the Duelist King Revenue Pool
- Discounted “mystery boxes” that contain cards
- Being able to vote on proposals that determine the future of the project
- Being able to propose proposals for voting

Token holder will also be entered into a lottery to win a unique 1-of-a-kind NFT. The probability of winning a lottery is proportional to the amount of DKT staked and the length of the period it has been staked for; with larger and longer giving the staker a greater chance of winning.

Duelist King

The goal of Colizeum is to more fairly distribute the value created by games once they’re in the open market. This value is in the form of  secondary markets which are often owned and managed by 3rd parties who keep the profits for themselves. Colizeum aims to help game developers access this value of which they were the source, to help game players earn from their gaming skills and attention, and to help influencers earn from the value they generate.

Colizeum offers a software development kit, SDK, that allows regular game developers to build blockchain games simply. This SDK removes the cost and complexity of hiring blockchain developer teams; which are expensive and few and far between. Initially this SDK will only support the Unity 3d game engine, but support for other will be added in the future.

## Play-to-Earn & Stake-to-Earn

In Colizeum games gamers play-to-earn whilst developers stake-to-earn. Developers stake $ZEUM to have their game placed higher up in the marketplace, thus earning greater exposure to gamers. Players earn “secondary tokens” for playing games. These are created by the developers but, besides existing as rewards, the only stated function for these tokens is to purchase Player Cards; which are needed by gamers to access other parts of the Colizeum world.

## Player Cards

Player Cards are NFTs that are periodically released by Colizeum. They are required to do anything besides play games on the Colizeum platform, thus creating and ensuring demand for them. Player Cards are bought in a pack. This is purchased with secondary tokens but the owner requires $ZEUM tokens to open it up.

> A gamer must possess a Player Card to compete in both types of tournament and to access the predictions markets. They also provide the holder with access to extra features and special games.

Player Cards come in different rarities. The only function of these rarities seems to have is that possessing a rarer card gives the holder access to “more exotic” levels of the prediction markets.

## Attention Marketplace

Cute speak for advertising marketplace, this opens up games for advertising by 3rd parties. In the form of deployable widgets the attention market provides opportunities for in-game advertising; these are described as “plane banners”. Where players are rewarded in the protocol’s native $ZEUM tokens for viewing them.

## Tournaments

There are two types of Tournament free and paid. The following hold true for all tournaments:

- A Player Card is required to play
- Game Developers need to stake $ZEUM tokens in order for their game to be eligible for tournaments, however this stake can also be delegated by the community or other interested parties.
- Winners receive ~90% of the prize pool
- For providing the platform Colizeum takes ~3% of the prize pool
- The game developers receive ~3% of the prize pool

*Free Tournaments*: Prizes for free tournaments are paid in secondary tokens and the prize pool is funded by the tournament creator.

*Paid Tournaments*: To create a paid tournament the tournament creator must have $ZEUM staked to the platform. A higher stake ranks a tournament higher in the list, meaning greater exposure to gamers. Gamers have to deposit a minimum contribution of $ZEUM to play the game and the higher the amount they put up the larger percentage of the prize pool they win if they are one of the game's winners. In paid tournaments there are also prize earning in-game tasks which gamers can complete to earn a share of the prize pool. The tournament creator receives ~3% of the prize pool.

## Prediction Markets

Player Cards are required to be able to bet, called bidding on the platform, in the prediction markets where users bet on tournament outcomes. Rarer Player Cards giving the holder access to “more exotic” prediction markets.

Bidders pool their $ZEUM and when the tournament is finished 90% is distributed between the winning bidders. The remaining 10% is shared out as follows:

- 2.5% to the tournament creator
- 2.5% to the game developer
- 2.5% to gamers participating in the tournament
- 2.5% to the Colizeum ecosystem development fund.

Studyum is an online learning platform that utilizes blockchain technology to secure user data and to give users control over what content is created on the platform. Studyum operates on the premise that not everyone learns the same way, and the platform will offer up to four teaching styles for each course so that each individual can learn at their maximum potential. Learning style, as well as course suggestions are completed via an AI that curates a unique profile for each user.

Initially the platform will based around sports training at a “World Championship” level with the aim to expand into other subjects, mainly those computer related, with a focus on re-skilling opportunities as more people’s jobs continue to be consumed by AI and automation. The platform is starting with sports training because The [founder](https://www.linkedin.com/in/igorpreneur/overlay/1635456030799/single-media-viewer/) has [won 2x international Karate Championships](https://studyum-io.medium.com/new-karate-kid-on-the-blockchain-38745dd24f89) and has been training other in the sport for years.

The platform, supposedly, has an affiliation with National Olympic Committees (although it doesn’t say which ones) and this is stated to be one way in which they will garner more high quality teachers for the sports courses at the outset.

To access the platform a user must purchase STUD tokens, which are the platform’s token. The process of purchasing STUD tokens includes an “intuitive” KYC process that creates an “AI-Profile” for each user. In addition to this the user takes numerous “small tests” to determine their basic learning profile. This AI-profile will continue to learn about the user, and will suggest classes to them based on their predicted chance of success.

## Learning Through Studyum

The four different learning styles defined by Studyum use a variety of technologies, including: AR, VR, machine learning, and AI; to create the user experience. Learning programs will be customizable and can contain theoretical knowledge, webinars, podcasts, training, videos, AR, and multiple other formats of information.

 Students are rewarded with the platform’s token for achieving milestones and they can also receive NFTs for achieving goals. It is not clear if students receive one or the other but some of the rewardable achievements include:

- Beating a personal record
- Beating a community record
- Watching video content
- Achieving positive marks on exams
- Finishing a lesson
- Following a project

There is also a referral-rewards program where students will earn 1% of all tokens earned by every individual who signs up using their referral link. Chat rooms will exist for each course allowing student to connect, assist, and learn with one another.

## Teaching Through Studyum

In order to create and teach a class on the platform prospective teachers -also called ‘content creators’- must stake STUD and can then propose their class. The exact quantity of tokens required for this is yet to be determine, and will be determined by the earliest users of the platform.

Once a teacher has staked and made a proposition for a class the proposition is then available for review by any user of the platform. During this time period users can challenge the proposed class. The reasons for challenging are mainly based on the necessity and suitability of the course for the platform and its users, as well the proposing teacher’s credentials. If a class is not challenged in this time period then the teacher has the green light to create it. If it is challenged then it is reviewed by the rest of the community and put to a community vote. If the class does not pass the voting process, with a simple majority vote being required to pass, then the user who raised the challenge is entitled to the teacher's staked tokens.

New content undergoes “algorithmic comparison” to ensure it’s up to scratch. Content creators receive rewards, in fiat and STUD tokens, and these content creators can also create unique NFT collectible cards for their students inside the platform. Furthermore, content creators can connect with advertisers to pitch or use their products. There will also advertising and commercials on the platform.

## Data Security

Studyum will use a private blockchain solution to store people’s data and financial transactions in a secure way. It is said that an individual’s data will be stored in their wallet, and inaccessible by the Studyum team or other users. It seems like this includes their AI profile.

It is wildly known and acknowledged that music artists are the subjects of the oligarchy of the music industry, and them, their talents, and their products are exploited for the financial gains of these profit driven corporations.

Moreover, an artist and their at the mercy of ticketing companies and ticket touts. Ticketing companies control the ticketing market and take a large cut of the ticket’s face value before it reaches the artist, adding on what "fees" they see fit. The consumer is also affected because purchasing tickets solely for the purpose of resale, at highly inflated prices, is a common practice. These secondary markets are now also run -but not limited,-by the ticketing companies that sold the original tickets. Here these companies are capitalizing on the price gouging done by those profiteering from the secondary market, but the artist never sees any of this. The result of this system, initially built to serve the artists and their fans, is the shameless exploitation of both the artist and their fans.

Blockchain has provided the foundations for the decentralization of the ticketing industry that is referred to as DeTi, decentralized ticketing. Centaurify is a ticketing app that gives artists and the managers of events the ability to control the sale of tickets, to realize the profits of those sales and to set parameters on, and earn from, the secondary market.

## NFT Tickets

Through the Centaurify platform artists can create highly customizable NFT tickets. NFT tickets reduce the viability of counterfeiting and fake ticket scams because ticket can be verified by tracing them back to the source. When creating their tickets artists have multiple variables they can set:

- Ticket quantity
- Ticket Face Value
- Maximum and minimum ticket resale values (putting a cap on price gouging)
- A percentages on future ticket sales (meaning that when a ticket is resold the artists receives the percentage of the resale value. This is set at a default of 2% but can be adjusted)


Artists also have control over their whole ticketing release schedule and can design their own tickets.

There are 3 tiers of staking, based not on volume of tokens staked  but the value, in USD, of the staked tokens. Assumingely this means that if the CENT tokens increase in value those staking on the platform will be required to purchase more in order to retain their tier status. 

Each tier provides users with a different level of early access to tickets. Whilst this can allow fans of an artist to ensure they get tickets to concerts, this function also creates a niche, similar to the bots used during current ticketing releases, for those looking to resell tickets for a profit on the secondhand market. 

Stakers also receive varying percentage rebates on their NFT ticket purchases and early access to NFT release. This early access also creates a drive for those who want to take advantage of the secondary NFT market (which for NFT artworks there will be no limitations on resale value).

Epoch 1 CryptoPetz

Petz Tokens are used to enhance the capabilities of individual Petz.  Attribute Tokens are used to enhance your Petz attributes (HP, Attack, Defense, Dexterity, Speed, and Stamina).  They come in 4 grades: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Obsidian. The higher the grade of the token, the more rare. The first 3 grades (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) boost 1 attribute at a time and increase in effect from Bronze to Gold. The rarest grade, Obsidian, boosts 2 attributes at once, with each boost having an effect equivalent to a Silver token. Each Petz has an Attribute Slots characteristic, which is the number of Attribute Tokens that can be applied to the Petz at any given time. Tokens can be applied to Petz and removed from Petz as frequently as a player would like.

Epoch 1 Token Collection

The AdaSwap DEX operates on a simple automated market maker, AMM, algorithm. On their DEX AdaSwap are promoting what they call a “Free Financial Model” where swaps which involve the platforms native token are subject to no platform fees. This is designed to encourage, and potentially artificially inflate, use and adoption of the platform and its native token.
 
## A launchpad

Little information currently exists about AdaSwap’s launchpad and how it will work. It is said that they will “protect the community through secure listing” where they verify multiple elements of a project; however the method of this verification is yet to be released.


## NFT Marketplace

There are plans for an NFT marketplace to be built into the AdaSwap app and platform. To kickstart it AdaSwap will launch their own series of Graffiti NFTs.

## “Stake and Forget” Stake pools

On the AdaSwap platform users can stake select tokens to select pools that are called as “stake and forget” pools. For staking to these pools users will receive the same rewards as other liquidity providers on the platform. In addition to these standard rewards stakers who stake to these pools will also receive airdrops of tokens from projects launching on the AdaSwap launchpad.

Projects launching from AdaSwap’s launchpad have to pay a fee to use the service. This fee is paid in the launching project's native tokens. This fee is then airdropped to the stakers in the “stake and forget” pools. To become eligible for these airdrops "stake and forget" stakers must first meet a minimum staking period in these liquidity pools.

A AMM based DEX also featuring a launchpad, an NFT marketplace, and “stake and forget” liquidity pools feature unique rewards.

AdaSwap

Each platform will host a liquidity farm/pool on for the other project on their own platform. VyFi’s native token will also be included in AdaSwap’s “stake and forget” pools.

The team plans on integrating a DAO for platform through the release of a platform token, EXNFT.

- Boosting listings on the homepage and social channels
- Gifting on the platform to support new artists

## Scalability

As usage rates of a blockchain grow not only will the blockchain need to increase its throughput but so will the applications and platforms built on that blockchain. EXNFT is planning for this and is built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and using a series of node microservices, where each node is purpose built for a specific task in the system i.e. backend, frontend, data, and caching. This use of microservices allows the platform to scale without disrupting the platform itself i.e. no downtime for maintenance.

COTI stands for *C*urrency *o*f *T*he *I*nternet and they are a blockchain agnostic, algorithmically designed payment solution with the vision to empower users to freely exchange value on the internet like they currently do with information. ## Trustchain Protocol

The COTI payment network is underpinned by directed acrylic graph, DAG, technology, which is noted for its high scalability. The platform is deigned around a trust-based algorithm, where trust is used to validate and confirm transactions. The Trustchain protocol is a consensus algorithm based on machine learning which assigns Trust Scores to transactions, based on a variety of factors, and then organizes them into chains. Fees decrease to almost zero for the more trustworthy users and the speed of processing their transactions increases.

## Decentralized Arbtritation System

A built-in, decentralized, arbitration system provides buyers and sellers with protection against errors and malpractice. Part of this is that merchants are required to adhere to rolling reserves requirements and the required amount is calculated using a combination of the merchants Trust Score and their turnover. A small “rolling reserves fee” is taken from each transaction a merchant receives and this is held for a number of days. When the term has ended the funds are released to the mechant's account. If any user raises an issue with a payment relating to that merchant then then these funds are used to pay that should the merchant loose the arbitration.

## The COTI Dime

The COTI network runs on the stablecoin the COTI Dime, its value is held stable at $0.10 and it can be used with merchants accepting COTI Pay. Whilst this is used as the main transfer of value on the network the COTI Dime has a few other important use cases:

- *Arbitration*: Arbitrators stake the COTI Dime in order to partake in the arbitration process. They also receive their rewards in COTI Dime.

- *Node Operator*: Are required to hold COTI Dime to participate in the network and node operator incentives are paid out in COTI Dime.

- *Fees*: All fees across the network are payable in COTI Dime.

## COTI-X

A currency exchange with multiple fiat and crypto pairings provides users with access to liquid markets. This allows users to store, pay, and receive funds in whichever currencies they choose; regardless of the choices of who they may be transacting with.

## Applications and Services

For customers COTI offers a wallet where they can store both FIAT and digital currencies. This wallet acts as a bank account and can be attached to a Visa debit card, also provided by COTI, for which users can select the payment currency they want to use on that card.

For merchants COTI provides processing tools to enable them to start accepting payments from customers using the COTI Pay service, where they can choose which currencies they want to accept, and they can also opt to run a full node to make payments quicker for their customers. COTI offers merchants a POS software suite that integrates with COTI Pay and can accept normal credit and debit card transactions.

### Djed 

Djed is a US dollar pegged stablecoin, that has been algorithmically design and uses smart contracts (that execute entirely on-chain) to ensure price stability. Djed is designed for paying transactions fees on Cardano, and the goal is that this will make transaction costs more predictable. The underlying protocol of Djed operates by keeping a reserve of base coins, and minting and burning both stablecoins and reserve coins. Getting stakers to stake to small, usually community run, stake pools is challenging. Incentives help to draw delegators to stake pools and rolling incentives, like those from PoolPerks, can help to keep delegators in a pool and, thus, increase that pools chance of passing the 1 million ADA threshold and to begin mint blocks regularly.

To receive their NFT perks delegators must first have been delegating to a pool for more than 2 epochs; the same way they have to to receive ADA rewards. Delegators then navigate to the PoolPerks website each epoch, enters a receiving address from their wallet which is staked to a participating pool, and are then prompted to pay a 3ADA fee to receive their perk. Their perk is then distributed to their wallet, along with ~1.5ADA.

Cardence is currently running on the Binance Smart Chain, BSC, prior to its launch on the Cardano network; slated to be at some point in mid-to-late 2022.

## IDOs and Guaranteed Participation

IDOs on the Cardence platform differ from many others in the fact that IDO token purchases are completed through a fixed-price swap pool where users swap their tokens for the IDO listed tokens; this is opposed to the more popular method of sending tokens to a wallet address in order to receive the IDO listed tokens in return.  Investors stake the platform’s native token, CRDN, to the platform to guarantee their participation in upcoming IDOs.

All wallets staking more than 4000CRDN tokens will be eligible for a share in an guaranteed allocation pool; where their allocation is relative to their “token weight score”. This score is determined by which pool the tokens have been locked into. Each of these pools has a different staking length, from 30-180 days, and an associated multipliers, 1x-4x. These are then use to work out how much of the token allocation members of each pool are able to purchase.

If all the tokens are not claimed by these staking participants there is the potential that a second round of token sale will be open to all interested investors on a first-come first-served basis.

## Features

There’re numerous proposed features of the Cardence platform that are designed to be of benefit to projects and investors.

*SmartMint*

A SmartMint tool allows projects to create fully customizable tokens, which can include inflationary and deflationary tokenomics. It is stated that tokens will be pre-security audited, although we know not by whom.

*Liquidity Locking*

A portion of the funds raised in an IDO can automatically be locked for DEX liquidity. The quantity that is to be locked is specified during sale creation and this part of the smart contract must be fulfilled before any of the funds can be released to the project.

*Referral Links*

Marketers and Influencers can create dedicated referral links to an IDO on Cardence and are then able to earn tokens for marketing the project and bringing in investors.

*Whitelisting*

Projects conducting presales through the Cardence platform can bring along their own whitelist of investors.

*Token Vesting*

The release of a project's  tokens can be set incrementally according to a pre-determined vesting schedule, decided on and locked in before the IDO is set in motion. This goes for both the team’s and the investor’s tokens; which can each be put on a different vesting schedule. This prevents investors buying the tokens through presale, where they're often much cheaper, and subsequently dumping them for profit during the first few day of trading. Doing this for the team’s token share also incentivizes them to keep working and finishing the roadmap.

When it comes to Cardence's native token, CRDN, the Cardence team’s share of the tokens, 15% of total supply, will be released over the course of 8 months, beginning September 1st 2021.

“Cardence gives the utmost importance to the vetting of projects to be onboarded”. This will be done via industry connections and an in-house team that also ensures the project receives the right support to grow. It is also stated that some projects, called “certified presales”, will be vetted by the Cardence team or through on-chain community voting. It is unclear what extra level of certification, will be given to these presales, the process involved, or how this vetting process differs from they differ from other presales. Seeing as Cardence state that the vetting of projects is deemed to be of the “utmost importance” should this extra vetting not be the normal procedure?

Regarding the team, there are no developers mentioned in the Cardence team documentation or associated with the company on their Linkedin profile. With them saying that they’re going to launch on Cardano, and then also build the same platform for Ethereum, Matic, and Solana, this is a worrying piece of the puzzle to be lacking when developing a platform.

Cardence’s IDO took place on Binance Smart Chain, BSC, and the IDOs they’re hosting are also happening on BSC. It is not mentioned in Cardence’s documentation about how or when they will help projects transfer over to the Cardano network.

That -and the fact that the Idea Scale site on which Project Catalyst operates is severely lacking in accessible documentation and information that describes how this experiment in decentralized funding functions- all make it quite a frustrating and difficult experience for new users.
