Posada Fund

Posada Fund is a permissionless, non-custodial crowdfunding board built on Cardano. It lets anyone raise or back a project directly on-chain — funds move wallet-to-wallet, and the platform never takes custody of a single lovelace.

How it works

Most crowdfunding runs through a company that holds your money, decides which campaigns are allowed, and can freeze, reverse, or take a cut on its own terms. Posada Fund removes that middleman entirely.

Non-custodial by design. Every listing gets its own on-chain address. Contributions flow straight to the project owner's wallet. Posada Fund cannot hold, freeze, or claw back funds — because it never touches them.
Wallet-as-identity. There are no usernames, passwords, or KYC gates to create or back a listing. You authenticate by signing with your Cardano wallet (CIP-30 / CIP-8), using your stake credential as your identity. Your keys, your account.
Permissionless listings. Anyone can publish a campaign. There is no approval committee deciding whose ideas are worth funding.
Transparent on-chain. Because contributions settle on Cardano, every donation is publicly verifiable. No opaque dashboards, no trust-us accounting.

On-Chain

These are all the on-chain NFTs, and on-chain NFT collections, that currently exist on Cardano. Many people consider on-chain NFTs to be better, or more special, than off-chain NFTs.

In regards to the on-chain vs off-chain NFT argument, the image represented by an off-chain NFT is found by following a link, typically stored on the IPFS, from the NFTs metadata. This can be changed by the person who uploaded it. The image represented by an on-chain NFT is coded into the metadata and is, therefore, immutably coded into the blockchain's history. This is usually, but not always, in the form a language that your browser understands, allowing your browser to interpret that information and display the NFT.

Non-Custodial

Non-custodial programs or applications do not hold the custody of your assets. This means that there is no third party company or person who is responsible for the security of the assets.

Non-custodial can be applied to wallets, where the user is the sole proprietor of their private keys. This means that you, and you only, are responsible for securing your assets.

The non-custodial tag can be used by platforms and applications other than wallets, such as NFT marketplaces, peer-to-peer swapping platforms, and blockchain bridges. When non-custodial is used with regard to these platforms then assets are locked up in smart contracts, and no person has custody over the assets as they are secured by the code of the smart contract.

If your wallet is non-custodial this means that only you have the ability to recover access to your wallet. This means that you should store your recovery seed and a backup of your password in a very secure location.

API

API stands for Application Programming Interface.

An API is an intermediary or go-between that allows computers or computer programs to talk to each other and pass information back and forth. APIs act as the messengers that take the request from the computer or computer program to the source that can provide the answer to that request, retrieves the answer, and then bringing it back to the computer or program that initiated the request.

In the blockchain space APIs are mainly used to query the blockchain. This is to say, that an API can be used to abstract specific data points from the blockchain so that a computer or program can use those data points to inform its user or its actions.
